FindMe: Cheap Fuel for the iPhone off to a great start!

FindMe: Cheap Fuel has been available in the AppStore since the 18th of August and is already preforming well with over 700 downloads in the first week and enjoying 7th position in the Free App list in the Finance category.

We did unfortunately experience some teething problems (for which we do sincerely apoligise) which were causing issues with registration, these where addressed in beta release 0.9 which came out today.

Were to now. We are going to be working hard over the next month to get as much fuel price data in the database as we can. We are hoping that you, the FindMe community, will get on board, put in your fuel purchases and we can give some back to the fuel giants!

iPhone Development Group Meetup - Perth

Announcing the launch of FindMe: Cheap Fuel for the iPhone

I’m happy to announce the forthcoming launch of our first attempt at an iPhone application, called FindMe: Cheap Fuel.

As the name suggest the application primary aim is to help users find the cheapest fuel and I’m sure you can all agree that nobody likes paying more than they have to for fuel.

Frequently I’ve thought, and I’m sure every car owner at some stage, “I’ll just see what the price is at the next station”. Murphy’s law suggest that it will be more expensive and it seems, at least me, that this is always so. This lead me to thinking there must be a better way and hence the idea for FindMe: Cheap Fuel was born.

The applications features allows users to quickly and easily view the price at different stations around your current location and from this allow you to make an informed purchasing decision.

So where does the price information come from you ask? Well this is where you come in! Prices are predominately gathered from the FindMe: Cheap Fuel community of application users. That is, when you enter a fuel purchase the price is recorded against the station. This price (along with its age) is then immediately available to display to others.

So please enter your purchases and invite family & friends to use this app as a bigger community means more accurate information which is better for everyone!
